Visuals and sound effects
The stars of the Wild Trucks show are the big rigs themselves. There are five in total that can appear on the reels, each one a distinctive colour. They are red, yellow, purple, orange and blue. The truck symbols are all animated in a way that makes them appear in motion while the low-paying symbols also feature some subtle movement.
There are 12 symbols in total that we’ll go through in a bit more detail in the paytable section. They have all been designed with the impeccable quality we’ve come to expect from Habanero slots over the years.
If there is one criticism of the visuals, it has to be the game’s background. It falls flat, looks cheap and doesn’t fit the theme. There’s a bit of movement with vehicles passing overhead and the streetlights glowing against the darkening sky. We’d have liked to have seen something more dedicated to the wide-open expanses synonymous with trucking. Anyway, I’m nitpicking. The background doesn’t really detract from the game at all.
Features
This game clicks into high gear when the features trigger. Wild Trucks boasts two of these: expanding wilds and a free games feature.
Expanding wilds
This title’s features certainly pack a punch, even if they are difficult to land. First up, there’s the Wild symbol which substitutes for all others. This Wild pays out at 5 000x if you land five of them on a payline. However, they don’t appear randomly across the reels when you spin. Instead, you must collect four instances of a particular truck to turn its associated reel into an expanding wild as broken down below:
- Red trucks on reel 1
- Yellow trucks on reel 2
- Purple trucks on reel 3
- Orange trucks on reel 4
- Blue trucks on reel 5
You can track how close you are to landing an expanding wild by the start lights above each reel. Once full, the expanding wild will trigger. If you’re lucky – extremely so – you might be able to trigger all five reels at once in which case you’ll land the 5 000x payout.
Free games feature
You’ll be rewarded with between 10 and 25 free games if you’re able to land the same Truck Symbol on reels one, three and five. There’s a bit of added jeopardy here, too! The fifth reel will throw out sparks as it kicks into overdrive if the same symbol lands on reels one and three. Free games are awarded as follows:

If you land Wild Symbols on the abovementioned reels you’ll be awarded 75 free games.

Wild Trucks winning strategy
This game isn’t for the faint-hearted. Its high volatility means you’ll spend lengthy periods without any significant wins. However, when those wins do land you have a better chance to load up on a truck-sized payout. With that said, this game will be better suited to you if you’ve got a bigger budget or daily float.
