Disco Beats demo
Disco Beats is a fun, simple slot produced by the talented team over at Habanero. As has become the standard with the studio, this title delivers stunning graphics and fun mechanics that won’t leave new players in a tailspin with overly complicated features and heaps of symbols.
Make sure to play the Disco Beats demo below for a better understanding of how the game’s mechanics work before you commit to playing with real money.
Neon lights, late nights and Disco Beats
Forget what you know about traditional 70s-style disco. Habanero’s Disco Beats turns the genre on its head with this eye-popping neon-arcade Japanese-themed slot. The game borrows elements from Japan’s love of karaoke, gameshows and disco culture to deliver an exciting experience that never takes itself too seriously.
Forgoing traditional “free spin” mechanics, Disco Beats does offer players the chance to claim huge fixed jackpots through a Wheel of Fortune-style mini-game. There’s also a Wild symbol to look out for and more!

Visuals and sound effects
We love the look of this game. From the fun neon hues to the game’s anime-style gameshow hostess, Disco Beats maintains the high standards we expect from Habanero’s visual design team.
There isn’t much in the way of animation. The gameshow hostess dances subtly on the right of the screen applauding your wins and will occasionally – and amusingly – give you a disappointed look on losing spins. There is also some subtle movement outside a window on the left of the reels.
Long-time Spina Zonke players will be pretty familiar with the game’s layout. Disco Beats features a 3×3 layout with 27 ways to win. Habanero haven’t gone ballistic in terms of symbols, with just seven adorning the reels in this title. More on those a bit later.
The game’s sound design doesn’t set the world alight. For a disco-themed game, you’d expect Habanero to pull out all the stops in terms of background music and game SFX. Instead, it falls a little flat. It’s not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but the repetitive music and the underwhelming SFX on winning spins and when triggering the feature is a little disappointing.
Features
The star of the Disco Beats show – aside from our pink-haired hostess – is the Wheel of Fortune minigame. This is activated when you land three scatter symbols anywhere across the reels.
Once triggered, you will get the chance to spin the wheel for a chance to win one of 11 different prizes. Look out for the Mini, Minor, Major and Grand jackpot segments. The other segments awarded lesser multipliers and extra spins of the wheel. They’re broken down as follows:
- Grand pays out 10 000x your stake
- Major pays out 1 000x your stake
- Minor pays out 500x your stake
- Mini pays out 100x your stake
- The lightning bolt awards you three extra spins
- The remaining segments can award up to 88x your stake
Paytable
Disco Beats delivers a simple, straightforward paytable. Land three symbols on a payline and you’ll trigger a win. And while the base game doesn’t feature massive multipliers (you’ll need to trigger the feature’s minigame for those), this title’s low volatility ensures that you regularly land smaller wins to keep your float ticking over.

Disco Beats winning strategy
If you’re a Spina Zonke player operating on a small budget, then Disco Beats could be the game for you. This title consistently delivers smaller wins to keep your float ticking over while the Wheel of Fortune mini-game is regularly triggered to hand out more significant wins.
We often found ourselves earning up to 18 free spins of the wheel during our testing. And while hitting one of the fixed jackpots is rare (we only won the “Mini” jackpot a couple of times), the cumulative winnings earned from the 8x – 88x multipliers begin to add up quickly.
That said, you may want to avoid this game if you’re playing to claim a Jackpot Race prize. The mini-game can eat up a lot of time. The spins when the title is in this mini-game state don’t contribute to your Jackpot Race chances.
Conclusion
Disco Beats’ Wheel of Fortune mini-game more than makes up for its lack of traditional slot features. As we alluded to in the intro, it’s not a title that takes itself too seriously which amplifies its likability in an age where more and more games are released with serious/sinister themes.
With an RTP of 96.62% and low volatility, it’s an ideal game if you’re new to slots or if you’re playing with a smaller budget. The bonus wheel can ramp up your wins if you land one of the jackpots while you’ll be awarded plenty of smaller wins during regular play.
